Playwright accepts a proxy object on browser launch: server, username, password. The server is the vendor host and port with a scheme. The credentials are a sub-user, not your account email. After launch, open a public IP echo, then a page you are allowed to open.
Residential versus datacenter in the same API
The Playwright field names do not change. The host does. Oxylabs residential is a different endpoint from their datacenter lists. Bright Data zones have their own host and port. Copy the product you paid for.
Country targeting
Vendors often put country in the username or in a country-specific host. Use it for geo tests of properties you control, or public pages you are allowed to collect from that country. Do not treat a country code as a way to look like a logged-in local shopper.
Headless still bills bytes
A headed or headless browser downloads CSS, fonts, and scripts unless you block them. That is why a Playwright session burns more gigabytes than a requests GET of the HTML. Price it with the visit calculator using a realistic page weight.
